The Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) participated in the COP29 Parallel Program, held in support of the Malaysia Pavilion at COP29, with a series of thematic forums running from 12–21 November 2024.
On 19 November 2024, during Day 7: Empowered Community – Guardians of the Sustainability Ecosystem, MNS joined as a panelist in the discussion titled “Urban Biodiversity: Cultivating Urban Resilience and Adapting to Climate Change.” The session brought together voices from grassroots and policy, including fellow SGP grantees, Free Tree Society, Malaysian Green Building Council, Friends of Bukit Dinding, alongside the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS).
MNS shared insights from the Rantaian Urban Green Spaces (RUGS) project, emphasising the critical role of community-led conservation and nature-based solutions in enhancing urban biodiversity and resilience in the face of climate change.
