The Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) welcomed 12 enthusiastic volunteers from the British High Commission for a meaningful day of trail building on the 31st of May 2024 at the Heritage Trail of Urban Community Forest (UCF) in Federal Hill.
The team contributed to trail rehabilitation efforts, helping to clear overgrown paths of the trail that had fallen into disuse since the Covid-19 pandemic. The British High Commission members also repainted the trail railings, enhancing its visibility for future users.
In addition to trail work, the group also assisted in planting and potting Kelat Paya (Syzygium myrtifolium) saplings into polybags at the MNS nursery. These native trees will be nurtured for future planting activities as part of MNS’s ongoing reforestation initiatives under the Rantaian Urban Green Spaces (RUGS) project.
